Back in the Saddle: Day 1 Prep for ’26 World Show
Here I am declaring my intention to show at the 2026 APHA World Show!
There is something so familiar about swinging your leg over a horse. Many of us have done it hundreds, if not thousands, of times. What an honor to have the privilege, the opportunity, and the ability to put our foot in the stirrup and swing our leg over our horse. Settling into the saddle is grounding. Those of us who have grown up in the saddle know it’s where we are supposed to be. As a middle-aged woman, I wonder how many more times I have left to do such a mundane, but magical movement?
My trainer, Heather Brower Koeman, has approximately 280 days and about 40 lessons to get me into the following classes:
Novice Amateur HUS
Novice Amateur SMS.
I have about 20 pounds to lose.
